Job summary

Mannik Smith Group is seeking a Water Resources Engineer-in-Training (EIT) for our Frankfort, KY team. This full‑time role supports the Water/Wastewater department with design, analysis, and permitting tasks, offering growth opportunities in civil engineering.

You will perform hydraulic calculations, prepare technical reports, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver compliant water resource solutions across Kentucky and neighboring states.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field is required.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• 0–4 years of experience in water resources engineering (internships/co-op acceptable).
• Familiarity with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software.
• AutoCAD proficiency is desirable; strong MS Office skills expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing and analyzing water resource projects, including drinking water and sanitary sewer networks.
• Perform hydraulic calculations using modeling software and industry tools.
• Support permitting with technical reports and regulatory applications.
• Conduct field investigations and data collection for utility design.
• Collaborate with civil engineers, environmental specialists, and regulators.
• Prepare drawings, maps, and reports using AutoCAD, GIS, and related tools.
• Stay updated on industry regulations, guidelines, and best practices.
