Job summary

Mannik Smith Group in Lexington, KY, is seeking a Water Resources Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our Water/Wastewater team. The role focuses on assisting design and analysis of water resource projects and supporting permitting and data collection.

Candidates should have a bachelor's in civil engineering, an EIT or ability to obtain within six months, and up to four years of related experience. A hybrid work schedule and competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• 0–4 years of experience in water resources engineering (internships/co-ops allowed).
• Familiarity with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist design and analysis of water resource projects (drinking water, sanitary sewer).
• Perform hydraulic calculations using modeling software.
• Support permitting with technical reports and regulatory applications.
• Conduct field investigations and data collection for utility design.
• Collaborate with engineers, environmental specialists, and regulators.
