Job summary

Verdantas in Akron, OH seeks an Intern in Water Collection Systems to support design, implementation and maintenance of water collection systems. Work alongside senior engineers and project managers to gain hands-on experience in a growing environmental consultancy.

The ideal candidate is pursuing a Bachelor's in Civil or Environmental Engineering, has internship experience, and is familiar with AutoCAD, GIS or hydraulic modeling.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• Internship or co-op experience in water resources or environmental engineering preferred.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to water collection systems preferred.
• Familiarity with sustainable water management practices preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in engineering software and tools (AutoCAD, GIS, hydraulic modeling software).
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of water collection systems, including pipelines, pumping stations, and treatment facilities.
• Conduct field inspections and assessments to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, and documentation for project submissions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project planning and execution.
• Participate in project meetings and provide technical input as needed.
• Perform data analysis and modeling to support engineering decisions.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and best practices in all project activities.
• Field conditions assessment and confined space entry participation.
