Freeport-McMoRan offers a 2027 Summer Internship in Water Resources (Civil) Engineering. This hybrid program is based in Phoenix, AZ, and runs May through August for eligible full-time students or recent graduates.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled full-time at an accredited four-year university pursuing a degree in Civil / Water Resources Engineering or closely related field.
• Recent graduate within 12 months with a degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Highly accurate and detail oriented with excellent oral and written communication.
• Demonstrates initiative and ability to work well in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist across water resources projects under close supervision.
• Provide water management support for mine water systems and facilities.
• Support development of operations maintenance and surveillance manuals.
• Attend field inspections of stormwater facilities.
• Support field data collection and verification for water management.
