Freeport-McMoRan offers a Geotechnical & Water Resource (Civil) Engineer Intern role that exposes you to geotechnical engineering in a mining setting. You will support data collection, field activities, and engineering analysis while collaborating with site teams and mentors.

The internship emphasizes hands-on learning, exposure to tailings management practices, and the use of CAD/GIS tools and data platforms.

Competenze

• Pursuing a Civil Engineering degree or recent graduate in civil-related field.
• Experience with MS Office and CAD/GIS tools as listed.
• Strong data analysis and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Mansioni

• Apply soil mechanics, hydrology, and hydraulics to tailings facilities analysis.
• Support field activities and data review with site teams.
• Assist with data collection from instrumentation systems.
• Create cross sections, maps, and figures from survey data.
• Help with QA/QC for field surveys, drone and bathymetric data.
• Prepare technical inspection summaries and presentations.
