Job summary

Cape Fear Public Utility Authority invites applications for a position focused on collecting samples of drinking water and wastewater and monitoring water quality in the distribution system. The incumbent will participate in an on-call rotation with a 30-minute response window and maintain detailed records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months of work experience in water quality or related field preferred.
• C Distribution license is preferred.
• Valid North Carolina driver's license required.
• On-Call rotation requires a 30-minute response time.

Responsibilities

• Obtain water and wastewater samples per established procedures.
• Transport samples to the lab for testing and compliance.
• Activate new lines and test flow, pressure, and flushing programs.
• Collect GPS data using Trimble GPS devices.
• Respond to emergencies and assist with investigations of customer concerns.
• Maintain detailed records of investigations and maintenance tasks.
