Job summary

Salt Lake City Corporation is seeking a Water Quality Supervisor to oversee regulatory programs ensuring compliance with CWA/SDWA and related state and federal requirements. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, coordinate inspections, enforcement actions, and reporting while working with operations, engineering, and external partners to protect receiving waters.

The role includes staff supervision, training, and fieldwork, with a salary range of $82,520.10 to $91,689.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus minimum of three years related work experience.
• Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to Clean Water Act (CWA) and Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and reporting software.
• Valid driver’s license or Utah driving privilege card.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor staff; train on permitting, sample collection, chain of custody, data collection, regulations, inspections and enforcement actions.
• Lead technical writing of reports, annual reports, management plans, SOIs, monitoring plans, and enforcement letters.
• Supervise staff, including hiring, onboarding, training, assigning and evaluating work performance.
• Oversee hazard assessments, inspections, enforcement actions, training, and public education to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate testing through contract laboratories and review analytical data.
