Job summary

Washington State Department of Ecology is seeking a Water Quality Program Capital Budget Manager (WMS2) to lead the long-range capital budget strategy and coordinate state-wide capital budget requests. The role requires strong budget management and grant oversight across the Water Quality Program.

You will advise agency leadership, forecast financial challenges, and ensure accurate reporting while supporting a flexible telework-friendly schedule with in-office collaboration several days per week

Qualifications

• Seven years of experience in public sector budget management or related work.
• Education in accounting, finance, economics, statistics, business, public administration, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design a long-range capital budget plan and develop financial contingency plans.
• Guide development of program capital budget requests and fiscal notes.
• Manage statewide capital budgets for Water Quality Program activities and monitor revenues/expenditures.
• Advise program leadership on capital budget actions and documents.
