Job summary

Aqua, an Essential Utilities company, is hiring a Facility Operator Apprentice in the Fort Worth area to support water and wastewater treatment operations. You will perform inspections, monitor gauges, collect samples, and maintain proper records while working with a team in a 24/7 operation.

Requires a high school diploma, a valid Texas driver’s license, and the ability to obtain a TCEQ Class C groundwater license within 24 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid U.S. Driver's License required.
• Must obtain TCEQ Class C groundwater license within 24 months of employment per the Career Progression schedule.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled plant inspections and act as Operator in charge of assigned systems.
• Complete customer service work orders, updates, and maintain appropriate system documentation of activities and close work orders in accordance with department policies and procedures.
• Monitor gauges, meters and control panels, and control variations and operating conditions of the treatment process; record readings.
• Maintain records pertaining to production, maintenance and treatment including reading charts and gauges to detect equipment malfunctions.
• Collect samples and perform chemical analyses as required by system sampling requirements.
• Perform other duties or special projects as requested related to the area of responsibility.
• Company vehicle is provided for business purposes.
• Must be available to work overtime and on-call as scheduled.
