Job summary

NW Natural Water in Coupeville, WA seeks a Water Distribution or Water Treatment Plant Operator II to perform advanced operation, maintenance and repair on water systems and respond to inquiries with technical expertise.

This non-union, full-time role requires WDM2/WTPO2 certifications, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift 50 pounds. You’ll work in a team, follow safety rules, and may lead project work on assigned tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three or more years of progressively responsible water utility experience.
• Strong working knowledge of water system operations, troubleshooting, and safety practices.
• Valid driver’s license and required certifications/endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair water mains, hydrants, check valves, and meters.
• Inspect valves, flush lines, and take water samples.
• Locate and mark distribution facilities and leaks.
• Operate service trucks and perform basic vehicle maintenance.
• Follow NW Natural Water Services safety policies and procedures.
• Participate in weekly team meetings and on-call rotation.
