Job summary

City of Woodburn is seeking a Water Operator II to perform skilled work in operating and maintaining the City’s Water Treatment Plant, storage systems, and distribution facilities. The role ensures safe drinking water by monitoring parameters and adjusting treatments as needed.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED with at least 3 years of water treatment operation experience, plus coursework in biology or chemistry.

Qualifications

• High School degree or GED with a minimum of three (3) years of water treatment operation experience involving potable water treatment and distribution.
• Supplemental course work in biology, chemistry or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Operate and assist in the maintenance of the City's water treatment facilities, storage reservoirs and pumping facilities to control treatment, storage and distribution of safe drinking water.
• Perform process tests, monitor influent and effluent water parameters and adjust plant treatment operations to maintain state and federal water quality standards.
• Check alarms, tank and reservoir water levels, pump operations and other information using a computer terminal; inspect chemical dispensing equipment for proper operation.
