Job summary

Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. seeks a lead field service operator supporting Liberty’s water utility operations in Texas. You will lead staff and contractors, perform inspections, set up meter reads, and oversee mains, hydrants, and services.

Role requires a Grade 3 Water Distribution Certificate (Grade 4 preferred), a high school diploma, and a Class A license. Proficiency with CIS data and strong safety emphasis are essential.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Grade 3 Water Distribution Certificate, or have the ability to obtain within 18 months. Grade 4 Water Distribution Certificate desired.
• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record. Class A driver's license required (location specific)
• Must have a minimum of 5 years of related experience in water utility
• Be proficient in the use and functions of the (C.I.S.) Customer Information System Program
• Must be able to work independently and responsibly with minimal supervision and function in a team environment
• Must have basic computer skills, including PC Windows operations knowledge and experience with communication devices
• Must communicate well with co-workers, and display a positive attitude and leadership ability in work related and safety issues
• Must be able to travel occasionally
• Must be able to perform a wide range of physically strenuous tasks
• Be able to obtain CPR and First Aid training

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct Liberty staff and contractors; organize annual meter reading and weekly lock-off schedules
• Perform thorough analysis and decision making on job details and emergencies
• Maintain tools, equipment, and assigned vehicles and complete daily safety paperwork
• Install, repair, and test water mains, services, meters, valves, and hydrants as required
• Assist in completing service orders and paperwork; participate in safety meetings and training
• Operate field equipment and ensure accurate testing and CIS data updates
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders under normal and adverse conditions
