Job summary

City of Laredo seeks a Meter Reader/Water Meter Technician to read water meters at residential and commercial locations, complete daily work orders for connections and disconnections, and diagnose and repair meters to ensure accurate functionality.

The role emphasizes customer service, accurate readings, and safe operation of City vehicles. Requires a valid Texas driver license and ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.

Qualifications

• At least three (3) months of general experience.
• Valid Texas Driver License; out-of-state license holders must obtain Texas license within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Conducts meter readings, manually and/or with an integrated register.
• Maintains water meter operations by diagnosing and repairing as needed.
• Fulfills work orders, including connections and disconnections of service.
• Will be required to drive a City vehicle for City business use.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
