Job summary

Aqua America, Inc. is seeking a Meter Reader to read and record water usage on customer meters along assigned routes. You will support meter maintenance, replacements, and service orders, ensuring accuracy and customer satisfaction.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, a valid U.S. driver’s license, and the ability to work in varying conditions. This is a full-time on-site position with operational field responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Experience in the water works field is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Read and record water meters on designated routes using hand-held devices.
• Check meters for operability and report damaged or missing boxes.
• Replace inoperable meters and assist with service orders as needed.
• Perform bench tests of meters at customer requests.
• Maintain meter boxes, tools, and vehicle cleanliness.
• Follow safety procedures and document all work activities.
