The City of Pittsfield’s Department of Public Utilities, Water & Sewer Division, is seeking a qualified Water Machinery Repair Person to install, maintain, and repair equipment used in distribution, collection, and treatment of water and sewage.

Qualifications

• Eighteen years of age with high school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of mechanical equipment maintenance experience.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outside in all weather.
• Familiarity with small hand and power tools and basic control systems.
• Valid driver’s license; Grade 1 MA Drinking Water Operator license within two years.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair pumps, motors, valves, and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on water systems.
• Handle minor repairs on motorized equipment and vehicles supporting water operations.
• May perform pipefitting, welding, or other skilled duties as needed.
• Landscape and incidental building maintenance as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
