Job summary

Xylem is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer/Specialist to support pre-sales engineering and post-sales delivery for complex water infrastructure solutions. The role collaborates with sales, customer support, and project management to translate technical needs into practical applications.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical engineering background, 0–3+ years’ experience, strong communication, and hands-on CAD/CAM/CAE familiarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience required.
• 0-3+ years of relevant experience; Engineer-in-training (EIT) and recent graduates welcome.
• Ability to use standard business processes to adapt to changing needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-sales technical support during feasibility, design and tender stages to outside sales, distributors, and consulting engineers.
• Assist Engineering with technical/product expertise and data gathering.
• Review tender documents with internal colleagues and SMEs.
• Support sales in quotation creation for engineered projects.
• Contribute as a technical consultant to prepare project bid packages.
• Provide product and application expertise, design support, and technical drawing support.
• Aid Application Engineers and Sales in reviewing technical documentation; ensure viability.
• Ensure proposals are technically viable and feasible.
• Prepare and review technical submittals with Engineering.
• Review specifications and ensure drawings are compliant.
• Address customer questions on submitted drawings promptly.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors to meet requirements.
• Understand post-sale scope and define needs with the requester.
• Support project managers with technical solutions.
• Assist in application training for customers.
• Participate in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities.
