Job summary

The City of Fort Worth Water Department’s In‑House Design Section is seeking an Engineer Project Coordinator to lead and manage a variety of city engineering projects supporting Fort Worth’s water and wastewater infrastructure.

You will apply civil engineering expertise to design, inspect, and manage contracts, assist with bids and cost estimates, and coordinate with internal teams and the public, under the guidance of a Senior Professional Engineer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology.
• Four (4) years of civil engineering, water/wastewater design, construction, or project coordination experience.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license in the State of Texas.
• Proficient skills using Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience with AutoCAD, GIS, or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate city infrastructure projects that improve daily life for Fort Worth residents.
• Apply civil engineering expertise to design, inspect, and manage contracts for water and sanitary sewer improvements.
• Play a key role in construction procurement by preparing, reviewing, and evaluating bids, cost estimates, and change orders.

• Respond to inquiries from the public, internal teams, and partner organizations.
• Use Fort Worth Water Department’s engineering design criteria to ensure quality and compliance.
