Job summary

The City of Alexandria is seeking a professional Industrial Painter for its Water Production Department in Central Louisiana. The role involves painting interior and exterior surfaces, preparing areas, and maintaining equipment and materials.

Responsibilities include safety practices at elevated heights and accurate surface preparation. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED with 3 years of industrial or commercial painting experience; a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 3 years of industrial or commercial painting experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license; Louisiana state license required at time of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Paints and prepares surfaces in industrial settings, incl. elevated tanks.
• Inspects surfaces, prepares surfaces with sanding tools and cleaners.
• Assembles safety gear and scaffolding; works at heights.
• Determines paint/sealant types; mixes colors and applies coatings.
• Maintains inventory and prepares time/material estimates for projects.

Education
