Job summary

City of Alexandria is seeking an experienced painter for industrial/commercial settings, including elevated water tanks. You will inspect surfaces, prepare areas, mix paints, and apply coatings to interior and exterior surfaces with attention to safety and regional environmental conditions.

Responsibilities include preparing safety gear, erecting scaffolding, maintaining inventory, reviewing work orders and MSDS, and operating lifts and related equipment.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED and 3 years of painter experience in industrial or commercial settings.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license, with Louisiana license required on appointment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect surfaces to determine preparation needed and apply paints, stains, sealers, lacquers, bleaches and fillers.
• Prepare surfaces using sandpaper, pressure washers, burners, scrapers and sanding machines.
• Prepare materials, mix paints, and maintain inventory; review work orders and MSDS documents.
