Job summary

The City of Alexandria is seeking a Pipelayer, Wastewater Collection, to perform skilled labor in construction, maintenance, and repair of water and wastewater systems in Central Louisiana. The role involves responding to emergencies and 24-hour call.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Two (2) years progressively responsible experience in construction/repair/maintenance of pipelines preferred.
• Must possess valid driver’s license and obtain State of Louisiana Class D license within one month of hire.

Responsibilities

• Digs holes, lines, trenches for pipe laying.
• Prepares and fits pipe for installation; maintains gas utility systems.
• Operates basic tools and equipment for field assignments.
• May lead workers in absence of supervisor.
