Job summary

Core & Main is seeking an Outside Sales Representative based in Columbia, MD, focused on water, wastewater, and civil infrastructure projects. You will build and maintain relationships with municipalities, engineers, and contractors, handling field engagements from pre-bid design through delivery.

Role requires significant project management and technical aptitude to specify products, coordinate shipments, and draft proposals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of outside sales experience in waterworks, civil, mechanical, or distribution.
• Experience supporting large infrastructure or plant environments (water/wastewater).
• Strong technical aptitude; civil engineering background is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specs, material lists, and engineered designs.

Responsibilities

• Manage project workloads for treatment plant and critical infrastructure projects.
• Present customer-provided material lists and complete bill-of-material packages.
• Coordinate multistage shipments to align with construction schedules using project management support.
• Provide product recommendations, technical clarifications, and system-level solutions to customers.
• Develop relationships with engineering firms, public agencies, and major developers.
