Job summary

The City of Glendora Water Division seeks a motivated Water Construction Inspector to oversee water and infrastructure construction, ensuring installations meet city standards and operate reliably for years to come. The role includes reviewing development plans, evaluating water system improvements, and ensuring regulatory and fire flow requirements are met.

Daily field inspections, plan review, coordination with developers, contractors, residents, and engineers are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent with major work in civil engineering or related field.
• Three years of experience in construction work.
• Completion of APWA Construction Inspection class or equivalent is desired.

Responsibilities

• Inspect street, water, sewer, storm drainage and traffic control construction work; enforce plans and specs.
• Review proposed construction plans and perform pre-construction conferences.
• Coordinate with utilities, public safety, and the public; document progress and necessary corrections.
