Job summary

Golden State Water Company is seeking an inspector to oversee water system construction and ensure compliance with approved plans, specs, and guidelines. You will coordinate with Capital Program Management, Engineering Design Center, Operations, and Environmental Quality to ensure proper handoff of new improvements to service.

The role includes field checks, daily inspection reports, chlorine testing, and compiling as-built drawings plus closing packages.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two years inspection experience or five years water operation experience.
• DDW Grade II Water Distribution certification preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively and read construction drawings/maps.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Ensure construction projects follow approved plans, specs, and guidelines.
• Inspect assigned water system construction and coordinate with departments.
• Manage contract inspectors and ensure proper inspection of work.
• Prepare as-built drawings and closing packages; compile daily reports.
• Perform field checks to identify conflicts and promote cost-effective completion.
• Interface with local authorities to meet permit requirements.
• Assist in service surveys and perform other duties as assigned.
