Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern / Early Career Engineer to join our Water/Wastewater team in Miami, FL. This role offers hands-on exposure to design and analysis for water infrastructure projects, with mentoring from senior engineers.

Ideal candidates are seniors or recent graduates pursuing FE/EIT and eager to apply coursework in hydraulics, CAD tools, and civil design on real-world projects while developing professional skills and contributing to community infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Academic coursework in civil engineering, environmental engineering, water resources, hydraulics, hydrology, utilities or infrastructure design.
• Interest in pursuing FE/EIT certification and a career in water and wastewater engineering.
• Exposure to CAD/BIM tools and hydraulic modeling through coursework or internships.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Assist planning and design of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Support projects involving treatment facilities, pipelines, conveyance systems, and pump stations.
• Perform engineering calculations and analyses under supervision.
• Prepare engineering drawings, plans, specs, and technical reports.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project teams across phases from planning to construction support.
• Participate in site visits and field assignments as needed.
