Job summary
Lake County Department of Utilities in Ohio is seeking a Water Distribution Maintenance worker to perform repair, maintenance, and inspection of the water distribution system. The role includes responding to emergencies, locating leaks, operating heavy equipment, and ensuring safe work in streets.
The position is full time with starting hourly wages ranging from $20.40 to $34.51, plus premiums for licenses and On-call pay.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid Ohio drivers license with a safe driving record and a drug screening required.
Responsibilities
- Responds to emergencies and operates the water distribution system safely.
- Locate and repair buried pipes and leaks.
- Operate dump truck and heavy equipment for excavations (backhoes/mini excavators).
- Waterline, valve and hydrant repair and installations, service connections and meter setting.
- Concrete finishing and asphalt repair.
- Keep accurate records.
- Work safely in streets protecting road users and pedestrians from work areas.
- Perform shop, vehicle and equipment maintenance.
