Job summary

DeKalb County is seeking an experienced supervisor for the Watershed Management Construction District, overseeing distribution and wastewater infrastructure maintenance. The role requires eight years in construction/maintenance with at least three years in a supervisory capacity, and a Georgia CDL.

Within one year, a Wastewater Collection System or Water Distribution Operator license must be obtained. The position is exempt and located in Decatur, GA.

Qualifications

• 8 years of experience in construction and maintenance of distribution and/or collection systems, with 3 years supervisory experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia commercial driver's license.
• Must obtain a Wastewater Collection System Operator or Water Distribution Operator license within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff and oversees schedules.
• Organizes and assigns work to ensure objectives are met and resources are available.
• Utilizes CMMS to schedule planned maintenance, repairs, and preventive upkeep.
• Manages a database of work orders and analyzes them by size, urgency, skill, and location.
• Prepares weekly and bi-weekly schedules based on labor forecasts.
• Develops work plans detailing scope, materials, timelines, permits, and clearances.
