Job summary

GFT is seeking a Water Design Engineer to join our North East team in a hybrid on-site/remote format with three days on site weekly. You will contribute to sustainable water infrastructure projects, including water and wastewater treatment, conveyance, and stormwater management.

The role requires a B.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering, 1–4 years in water/wastewater engineering, strong communication, and FE/EIT eligibility within 3 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• 1-4 years of related experience in water/wastewater engineering.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with municipal and private utilities.
• FE exam completed or EIT within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design and construct water, wastewater and municipal infrastructure projects.
• Conduct site visits, surveys and inspections; assist data collection for utility projects.
• Prepare reports and design documents; develop design plans, specs and cost estimates.
• Review subdivision, land development, grading and zoning plans; develop stormwater management plans.
• Prepare permit applications (federal, state, local).
• Perform construction observation and field engineering services.
• Prepare grant/funding applications.
