Job summary
GFT is seeking a dynamic Water Design Engineer to join our Northeast offices in a hybrid-remote role with three on-site days per week. You will assist in planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater projects, conducting site visits, preparing reports and design documents, and supporting permitting efforts.
The ideal candidate holds a BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering, 1–4 years of related water/wastewater experience, and an FE or EIT within 3 months.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering required.
- FE exam completed or EIT certification within 3 months of hire expected.
Responsibilities
- Participate in planning, design and construction administration of water, wastewater and municipal infrastructure facilities/projects.
- Conduct site visits, surveys and inspections, and assist with data collection and compilation for utility projects.
- Prepare design plans, specifications and cost estimates.
- Review subdivision, land development, grading, and zoning plans including stormwater and erosion control.
- Prepare federal, state and local permit applications.
- Perform construction observation and field engineering services.
- Prepare grant/funding applications.
