Job summary

GFT is seeking a Senior Water / Wastewater Engineer to join our Water team. This role follows a hybrid work model with regular office attendance.

You will contribute to innovative solutions for sustainable water management, involving dams, advanced treatment, stormwater, and conveyance projects. Ideal candidates have a BS in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering, with PE licensure or the ability to obtain it within 6–12 months, and 8+ years of water/wastewater design experience.

Qualifications

• Requires a BS in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering (MS preferred).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6–12 months.
• 8+ years of water and/or wastewater design experience preferred.
• Expert knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Experience in filtration, disinfection, hydraulics, and solids handling is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support design, optimize, and manage systems that treat and transport drinking water and wastewater.
• Design water/wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations, with CAD drawings and equipment selection.
• Perform hydraulic analyses and pump selections for new and existing systems.
• Analyze lab data, operator reports, and chemical usage to resolve operational issues.
• Ensure treated water meets municipal or industrial regulatory standards.
• Develop feasibility studies and supervise construction or commissioning of new technology.
• Monitor data to refine treatment techniques.
• Serve as a technical specialist in conventional and advanced water/wastewater treatment.
