Job summary

Black & Veatch in Gaithersburg, MD is seeking a Construction Project Representative - Water to oversee field construction efforts, coordinate with contractors, and ensure quality and safety across projects.

This role emphasizes hands-on oversight, subcontractor submittals, and close collaboration with Owner’s Advisor, PDE, and O&M teams to deliver on-time, within-budget results in water projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum 3+ years as Superintendent with degree, or 5+ years without.
• Experience in water, wastewater, or stormwater preferred.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a field representative to ensure that all Work is completed according to the contract documents.
• Communicates and collaborates with other project team members to solve constructability issues.
• Monitors the contractor’s submittal register/log and tracks submittal status.
• May help the Owner’s Advisor facilitate submittal reviews by various stakeholders.
• Reviews Contractor’s certified payroll submissions and may conduct labor standards interviews.
• Maintains electronic project documentation in the PMIS.
• Ensures as-built documentation is reviewed by the PDE.
• Assists O&M with review of manuals and asset induction information.
• Monitors progress of testing, commissioning, and closeout.
• Performs warranty inspections and supports O&M during warranty period.
• Other duties as assigned.
