Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Construction Management Services Section Leader in California to guide a CMS team within our Water Business Group. You will manage staff, schedules, and project delivery while upholding safety standards and company policies.

You will mentor engineers and project staff, participate in business development, and coordinate with other sections to ensure quality outcomes and client satisfaction across projects in a dynamic, employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum 10 years of experience.
• Professional registration, license or certification may be required based on role.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities required.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and support a CMS team within the CMS Business Class.
• Manage workload and adjust staff assignments to deliver quality products.
• Provide oversight and mentorship on projects.
• Select, train, develop, and manage technical personnel.
• Support hiring initiatives for the CMS Business Class.
• Assist with administrative responsibility for section staff and technical service functions, coordinating with other sections.
• Implement, monitor and support company policy.
• Support project management activities including planning, directing and monitoring.
• Prepare and update project schedules, pay requests, progress reports, budgets, and schedule management reports.
• Ensure subcontractor compliance with Health and Safety Program through communication and inspections.
• Coordinate local bidding efforts.
• Take responsibility for project setup and temporary facilities.
• Participate in business development, including client interaction and proposal development.
• Support QA/QC procedures and training for personnel per BC leadership.
• Mentor junior project staff to develop their growth.
• Be active in recruitment and hiring.
• Perform other duties as needed
