In the role of Construction Management Services Section Leader, we'll count on you to:

Lead, mentor, and support a team within the CMS Business Class

Manage workload and adjust staff assignments as needed to deliver quality products

Provide oversight and mentorship on projects

Select, train, develop, and manage technical personnel

Support hiring initiatives for the CMS Business Class

Assist with administrative responsibility for section staff and technical service functions, and lead and coordinate services with other sections

Implement, monitor and support company policy

Support project management activities including planning, directing and monitoring

Prepare and update project schedules, pay requests, progress reports, budgets, and schedule management reports

Ensure subcontractor compliance with the Health and Safety Program through communication and inspections

Coordinate local bidding efforts

Take responsibility for project setup and temporary facilities

Participate in business development, including client interaction, proposal development, and participation in professional societies

Support implementing QA/QC procedures, and for the execution of training for personnel as established by BC leadership

Mentor local project staff that are less experienced Project Managers to help develop their professional growth.

Be active in recruitment and hiring

Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

Actively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand.

Certified Construction Manager (CCM) by Construction Management Association of America

Professional Engineer in California

This position is subject to a preemployment drug screen.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 10 years experience
  • Professional registration, license or certification may be required based on role
  • Strong communication and listening skills
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments
  • Good leadership and organizational skills
