Job summary

Jensen Hughes is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Designer to support a fast-paced semiconductor project in North Phoenix. The role involves design, review, and field oversight of automatic sprinkler systems and related suppression equipment, ensuring compliance with NFPA standards and client requirements.

Ideal candidates bring five+ years in fire protection design, proficiency with AutoCAD/REVIT/HydraCAD, and the ability to interface effectively with clients.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience in fire protection system design, with emphasis on automatic sprinkler systems and fire pumps.
• Proficiency with industry-standard design tools such as AutoCAD, REVIT, HydraCAD or SprinkCAD.
• NICET Water-Based Systems Layout Certification preferred; NICET II or higher strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support the design and layout of automatic fire sprinkler systems per NFPA standards and project requirements.
• Generate fire suppression specifications for water-based systems.
• Perform hydraulic calculations, material take-offs, and system sizing including fire pumps and controllers.
• Review shop drawing submittals for sprinkler, fire pump, and suppression systems.
• Act as owner's representative during design, construction and commissioning phases.
• Conduct field surveys and site walks to verify installation quality and code compliance.
