Job summary

Jensen Hughes, a leading fire protection engineering firm, seeks an experienced Fire Sprinkler Inspector to ensure proper installation, testing and compliance of sprinkler systems at a large manufacturing site in Phoenix, AZ.

The role requires coordination with engineers, contractors and AHJs, meticulous documentation, and on-site presence on an active construction site, with NFPA knowledge and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Experience in fire sprinkler inspection, installation, or quality control within commercial or industrial construction environments.
• Working knowledge of NFPA standards (e.g., NFPA 13, 14, 20, 24, 25).
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents, shop drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections of fire sprinkler and fire suppression systems, including pipes, valves, sprinkler heads, and control panels, to ensure proper operation and compliance with local, state, and national fire codes.
• Test and evaluate system functionality, including alarms, control valves, and piping systems, and perform maintenance or recommend corrective actions as needed.
• Identify potential fire hazards and document deficiencies in detailed reports, including photographs and notes.
• Collaborate with engineers, maintenance teams, and contractors to address fire safety concerns and provide guidance on proper system maintenance.
• Educate staff on fire sprinkler system operation, maintenance and testing procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and system performance for compliance and safety audits.
