The Bowerman Group is partnering with a growing luxury watch service and technology company to recruit experienced Watchmakers for a new in-house workshop in Northern Westchester County, New York.

This position will be responsible for the complete service, repair, testing, and quality assurance of luxury timepieces. The role is primarily focused on mechanical watchmaking and requires the ability to work across a wide range of watches and ages.

The Watchmaker will join the company as it expands an internal watchmaking operation, that had previously relied on outsourced service providers. The workshop is being built to support a growing technical team and will operate alongside the company's technology platform for managing watch service and repair.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform complete mechanical watch service and repair according to established technical standards, procedures, and tolerances.
  • Diagnose functional, aesthetic, and performance-related issues; execute regulated adjustments and perform final timing.
  • Conduct final quality-control checks, including inspection of components, gaskets, assemblies, and final casing.
  • Conduct, document, and validate required testing, including water resistance, rate performance, and functional checks.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and the workshop in a clean, organized, professional manner.
  • Use the company's digital service platform to track watches and services in progress.
  • Provide a watchmaker's technical perspective to help improve the company's service software and user experience.
  • Participate in ongoing training and continuous improvement of workshop processes, equipment, and technical standards.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • Formal watchmaking training, CW21 certification, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong mechanical watchmaking background with experience servicing and repairing a broad range of luxury timepieces.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to successfully complete required bench and technical evaluations.
  • Ability to diagnose, service, regulate, test, and quality-check watches with precision and consistency.
  • Comfortable working within defined technical procedures, documentation systems, and quality standards.
  • Experience working across multiple watch brands, models, and ages is strongly preferred.
COMPANY INFORMATION

Our client operates at the intersection of luxury watch servicing and technology, providing service and repair capabilities for watch owners and industry partners.

The company is bringing watchmaking capabilities in-house and is currently developing a new workshop in Northern Westchester County, NY. The operation is expected to grow to a team of approximately 6–10 people as the business develops.

In addition to servicing watches, the company is developing a technology platform designed to support the watch service and repair process. Watchmakers have the opportunity to provide direct technical input into how that platform evolves.

This is a full-time, onsite position. The location is convenient to Metro-North transportation for easy commuting from NYC. Remote or hybrid work is not available for this bench-based role.

LEADERSHIP & CULTURE

The Watchmaker will work directly with an experienced watchmaker who will be onsite daily, building out the team and managing the operation while continuing to work at the bench.

The environment is intended for watchmakers who value hands-on technical work, documented quality standards, and the opportunity to contribute to the development of a growing in-house service operation.
