Job summary

Investment Watches in Austin is seeking an experienced watchmaker to join our in-house service team. You will service, repair, evaluate and maintain high-value mechanical timepieces across brand families in a fast-paced, luxury-focused environment.

You will work on movements, cases and bracelets, perform complete mechanical services, diagnose issues, and document work while coordinating with authentication, inventory and logistics teams.

Qualifications

• Formal watchmaking education or certification is required.
• Minimum 3 years of professional watchmaking experience.
• Experience servicing high-end mechanical watches and knowledge of movements.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete mechanical services, including disassembly, cleaning, inspection, lubrication, reassembly, regulation, and testing.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and determine repair procedures.
• Perform movement repairs, adjustments, and component replacement.
• Test watches for accuracy, amplitude, power reserve, water resistance, and performance.
• Perform case and bracelet refinishing when appropriate.
• Preserve case geometry and originality on collectible watches.
• Assist with authentication evaluations when required.
• Identify damaged or non-original components and evaluate service needs.
• Maintain detailed service documentation and organized workspace.
• Coordinate with authentication, service, inventory, sales, and logistics teams.
• Contribute to workflow improvements as the operation scales.

Investment Watches is expanding its in-house watchmaking and service department and is looking for an experienced Watchmaker to join our growing team in Austin.

Thousands of luxury watches move through Investment Watches each year, ranging from modern Rolex sports models to complicated and highly collectible pieces from Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Vacheron Constantin, A. Lange & Söhne, Richard Mille, and other leading manufacturers.

Our Austin operation now includes three watchmakers , a dedicated authentication and service department, and an 8,000+ square-foot facility with a professional watchmaking workshop, authentication center, bank-grade vault, content studio, showroom, and private client spaces.

This is an opportunity for a skilled watchmaker to work on an exceptional variety of high-end watches while becoming part of a company that is expanding rapidly within the U.S. luxury-watch market.

What You'll Do

As part of our watchmaking team, you will be responsible for servicing, repairing, evaluating, and maintaining high-value mechanical timepieces to a consistently high standard.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Perform complete mechanical services, including disassembly, cleaning, inspection, lubrication, reassembly, regulation, and testing
• Diagnose mechanical issues and determine appropriate repair procedures
• Perform movement repairs, adjustments, and component replacement
• Test watches for accuracy, amplitude, power reserve, water resistance, and overall performance
• Perform case and bracelet refinishing when appropriate
• Preserve case geometry, finishes, and originality when working on collectible watches
• Assist with technical evaluations and authentication when required
• Identify damaged, incorrect, aftermarket, or non-original components
• Evaluate incoming watches for service requirements and condition
• Perform final quality-control inspections before watches return to inventory or clients
• Maintain detailed and accurate service documentation
• Maintain tools, equipment, and an organized professional workspace
• Coordinate closely with our authentication, service, inventory, sales, and logistics teams
• Help improve procedures and workflows as our service operation continues to scale
• Occasionally participate in educational or behind-the-scenes content showcasing watchmaking craftsmanship

Qualifications

• Formal watchmaking education, certification, or recognized apprenticeship required
• Minimum 3 years of professional watchmaking experience
• Hands-on experience servicing high-end mechanical watches
• Strong knowledge of mechanical movements and diagnostic procedures
• Experience working with brands such as Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Vacheron Constantin, Omega, Cartier, or similar manufacturers
• Experience with case and bracelet refinishing is strongly preferred
• Experience servicing chronographs and complicated movements is highly valued
• Experience with high complications is a significant advantage
• Authentication experience is beneficial but not required
• Strong English communication skills
• Must be able to work full-time from our Austin facility
