• Watch and protect client facilities within a given area as directed by the client.
• Understand contractor’s methods for subsurface installations.
• Monitor and provide surveillance of critical infrastructure during known or upcoming excavations.
• Contact excavators and schedule monitoring with them.
• Locate and mark underground facilities using industry tools, standards, and methods.
• Perform ticket audits to ensure locators accurately identify facilities and follow marking procedures.

GridHawk LLC, The Premier Provider for Utility Services, is seeking a Utility Watch and Protect Technician. The role involves overseeing contractors digging on and around gas facilities, monitoring excavations, and ensuring the safety of contractors and the public. The technician also performs field audits to verify compliance with safe and accurate utility practices.

Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with citizens, contractors, and customers.

• Experience with construction and installation of below-grade infrastructure.
• Familiarity with existing utility standard designs and complex urban underground infrastructure.
• Experience serving as firm/client liaison and reviewing design drawings created by others.

Salary and Benefits
