Job summary

Veolia North America, LLC is seeking a wastewater plant operator to control assigned processes and maintain daily logs in an industrial setting. The role includes monitoring equipment, taking samples, and performing process tests while adhering to safety procedures.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, plus two years of wastewater experience. Wisconsin DNR license and related certifications are preferred; shift work may be required, with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Two years experience in the operation and/or maintenance of wastewater treatment equipment.
• Knowledge of operating equipment in wastewater treatment.
• Knowledge of Windows based computer operating system.
• Knowledge of the operation and adjustment of valves, mechanical pumps, motors, chemical feed systems, and semi-automatic controls.
• Knowledge of sampling and laboratory procedures.
• Ability to read and understand a variety of dials, meters, and gauges.
• Valid Wisconsin driver's license.
• Communicates effectively via written, electronic and oral methods with co‑workers, supervisors, managers, and others when necessary.
• Ability to wear SCBA.

Responsibilities

• Operates assigned plant processes.
• Operates assigned treatment plant equipment by starting/stopping and regulating semiautomatic controls, notes malfunctioning equipment and troubleshoots for needed repairs.
• Records and interprets meter and gauge readings from equipment.
• Takes periodic samples for laboratory analysis.
• Performs tests for process control.
• Records activities in log and prepares and submits daily shift operational reports.
