Job summary

Inframark is seeking a Wastewater Operator I to operate and maintain equipment in wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring reliable plant performance and safety. The role requires willingness to obtain state certifications, flexibility to work all shifts, and readiness to respond to after-hours emergencies.

Responsibilities include operating pumps and valves, performing routine testing, documenting plant data, and maintaining clean facilities while providing customer service as needed.

Qualifications

• Willing to study required material to obtain water or wastewater certification.
• Knowledge of process control techniques, maintenance procedures and safe practices.
• Ability to perform routine on-site maintenance and emergency repairs of treatment equipment.
• Knowledge of regulatory rules is essential.
• Previous water or wastewater treatment experience is desirable.
• Completion of water or wastewater correspondence courses is desirable.
• Willing to work all shifts including weekends, holidays, evenings, and 24-hour emergency on call.

Responsibilities

• Operates equipment such as valves, pumps, motors, belt presses, disinfection equipment, vehicles, etc.
• Conducts routine testing, monitoring and maintenance of production wells and wastewater unit processes; basic lab analyses.
• Documents treatment process performance including daily flow, electrical and chemical usage and dosage.
• Responds to call outs and after-hours emergencies to repair equipment and support systems.
• Maintains clean, neat and secure facilities.
• Provides customer service functions when necessary.
• Works all shifts including weekends, holidays, evenings, and on-call emergencies.
