Job summary

Sanitation District 1 is seeking a Director of Wastewater Treatment for the Dry Creek WWTP in Villa Hills, KY. The role oversees three regional plants, laboratory and pretreatment compliance, with a focus on safety, compliance, and data-driven performance.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and 15 years in water/wastewater operations, plus 10 years of supervisory experience. Kentucky license within 6 months is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Environmental Science, Engineering, Applied Sciences, or a related field.
• Fifteen (10) years of progressively responsible experience in water or wastewater treatment plant operations.
• Ten (10) years of supervisory or management experience in a wastewater treatment plant environment.
• Must obtain a Kentucky Wastewater Treatment Operator License, Class IV, within six (6) months of the start date.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership for operation, maintenance, and performance of the District’s wastewater treatment plants, small package treatment plants, laboratory, and pretreatment compliance divisions.
• Establishes division-wide goals, performance measures, operating policies, and strategic priorities to achieve organizational objectives.
• Oversees the development and administration of the Plant Division operating budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.
• Mentors and develops Plant Managers and other supervisory personnel, promoting leadership effectiveness and safety.
• Ensures the division meets performance targets and regulatory compliance.
