Job summary

Sanitation District 1 is seeking a Director of Collection Systems to lead the waste-water collection network, drive efficiency, and manage a multi-disciplinary team in Ft. Wright, KY.

The role requires a strong engineering background and the ability to translate organizational goals into actionable programs. The position emphasizes budgeting, asset management, policy development and cross-functional collaboration with internal and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental science, engineering or applied sciences is required.
• Ten (10) years of experience in wastewater construction or maintenance activities or related field preferred.
• Five (5) years of supervisory experience required to effectively lead the team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee SD1’s collection systems and manage assets and budgets.
• Develop and implement programs to improve efficiency and performance within the department.
• Communicate with department directors, managers and external agencies to coordinate actions.
• Prepare management reports and metrics to measure operational performance and cost control.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local environmental regulations and SD1 policies.
• Foster a positive morale and provide sound solutions for complex engineering challenges.
