Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a wastewater technician to oversee the landfill’s wastewater system and odor control. The role includes operating pumps, performing maintenance, and ensuring EPA compliance while supporting site operations.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in related work, is dependable, and can learn to operate multiple trucks and equipment. This on-site position requires reading and speaking English and successful pre-employment testing.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years experience in a related work environment preferred
• Experience welding HDPE pipe preferred
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States
• Must successfully complete pre-employment testing
• Must be able to read and speak English

Responsibilities

• Maintain landfill to meet EPA inspection requirements
• Set up and maintain pumps for leachate and storm water
• Perform preventive maintenance on diesel and gas engine pumps and equipment
• Monitor storm water pumping to maintain regulatory compliance
• Manage odor control and wastewater system operations
• Safely operate vacuum, sweeper, flush and other trucks as needed
• Assist with landfill maintenance and site improvements
