Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling in Painesville, OH is seeking a Landfill Laborer to perform grounds upkeep, fence work, and equipment operations. The role supports yard duties, maintenance tasks, and safety procedures within a regulated landfill environment.

Shift is 7:00am - 5:00pm, Monday to Friday, with opportunities to assist in various lines of business. The ideal candidate will have mechanical aptitude, strong work ethic, and good communication skills, with a safety-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude required.
• Self-starter with strong work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform facility grounds upkeep including mowing, trimming, and trash removal.
• Build and repair fences.
• Maintain odor control system as needed.
• Operate equipment such as skid steer, sweeper, and supply trucks.
• Direct traffic around the landfill and interact professionally with customers.
• Assist with general housekeeping in maintenance shops and offices.
• Follow safety policies and comply with regulations.
