Job summary

Rumpke of Ohio, Inc. is seeking a Wastewater Technician to oversee wastewater systems at the landfill and assist with odor control. Responsibilities include operating equipment, maintaining pumps, and supporting EPA compliance while ensuring safe, efficient landfill operations.

The role requires mechanical aptitude, welding HDPE pipe, and the ability to read and apply EPA regulations. Night/weekend shifts and a valid driver’s license may be needed.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn the wastewater system.
• Ability to learn welding of HDPE pipe.
• Knowledge of EPA regulations and landfill compliance.
• Ability to learn and operate equipment in the trash disposal area.
• Must be dependable, a self-starter, and able to perform daily operations.
• Good communication and professional interaction with others.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the landfill to meet EPA inspection requirements.
• Set up portable pumps for leachate and storm-water control.
• Perform preventive maintenance on diesel and gas pumps and equipment.
• Monitor storm-water pumping to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Manage odor control and wastewater operations across the site.
