Job summary

Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District is seeking a seasoned leader to manage the Sewer System Maintenance & Operation Department. The role oversees preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs, drives cost savings, and ensures reliable wastewater collection and storage for customers.

The position requires several years of supervision in wastewater facilities, strong budgeting, and the ability to respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of experience operating, maintaining, designing, or constructing wastewater collection systems or treatment facilities.
• Three (3) years of supervising, managing and/or leading people, projects, or processes.
• Ohio EPA Class II Wastewater Certification or ability to obtain within 36 months; valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, manage and control maintenance and operation activities.
• Develop and monitor departmental goals and budgets; allocate staff and resources.
• Lead process improvements to reduce costs and improve safety and reliability.
• Oversee maintenance and repair of wastewater collection system infrastructure.
• Respond to emergencies and off-hour alarms as needed.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and safety programs; interact with agencies and communities.
