Job summary

Veolia North America seeks a Deputy Site Leader to assist the Site Leader in daily operations, ensuring alignment with goals and safety standards. The role emphasizes teamwork, issue resolution, and effective communication across the site.

You will support ongoing site improvements, mentor junior staff, and help manage contracts and customer relations while maintaining a safety-first, cost-aware culture.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• A degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field is strongly preferred.
• 3 years of leadership experience, 2 in a supervisory/lead role, with focus on assisting leadership and operational success.

Responsibilities

• Foster teamwork and clear site-wide communication.
• Support the Site Leader in managing team performance and coaching.
• Liaise with Site Leader, staff, and external stakeholders.
• Assist in client communications and client-facing roles when necessary.
• Promote a safety‑first culture and conduct safety checks.
• Mentor junior team members and support skill development.
• Aim to develop into a future leadership role; grow operational and leadership skills.
• Typically supervise less than 10 FTEs.
• Enforce comprehensive safety protocols and monitor safety metrics.
• Oversee contract execution and compliance with environmental/health/safety procedures.
• Monitor project delivery and maintain quality and consistent results.
• Respond to customer inquiries and improve customer satisfaction.
