St. John the Baptist Parish is seeking a Wastewater Service Tech in LaPlace, LA to perform maintenance on parish wastewater systems, including collection lines and lift stations, and to repair inspection holes, covers, and pipes.

Salary Range: $16.97 To $28.02 Hourly
SUMMARY OF PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION: Performs various activities and maintenance tasks related to the Parish’s wastewater systems; maintains wastewater collection lines and lift stations; repairs inspection holes, access covers, and collection system pipes. QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. One year of utility maintenance experience desirable, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a valid Louisiana driver’s license and driving record acceptable to Parish’s Risk Manager. Must attain at least a Wastewater Collections Class I Operator’s Certification through the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) within eighteen (18) months of appointment to position. Progress must be made toward completion of higher classifications of LDH certification in Wastewater Collections when experience requirements of LDH are met. Required licenses and certifications must be kept current during employment with the Parish, including maintaining LDH certification requirements. OTHER:Must be able to accept call-out, standby, work overtime including weekends and holidays as assigned. Starting salary dependent on level of LDH certification and experience.
