Job summary

St. John the Baptist Parish is seeking a Wastewater Service Tech in LaPlace, LA to perform maintenance on parish wastewater systems, including collection lines and lift stations, and to repair inspection holes, covers, and pipes.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a valid Louisiana driver’s license, and the ability to obtain an LDH Wastewater Collections Class I Certification within 18 months; 1 year of utility maintenance experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• One year of utility maintenance experience desirable or-equivalent education/experience.
• Must have a valid Louisiana driver’s license and driving record acceptable to Parish’s Risk Manager.
• Must attain LDH Wastewater Collections Class I Operator’s Certification within 18 months of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance tasks related to the Parish’s wastewater systems.
• Maintains wastewater collection lines and lift stations.
• Repairs inspection holes, access covers, and collection system pipes.
