Annual Salary Range: $38,987.83 - $58,460.06 Grade: 23
The City of Alexandria is seeking professional individuals to begin a career in the Wastewater Department, located in the heart of Central Louisiana to perform technical tasks at the supervisory level on an assigned shift, performing various construction, repair, maintenance, and operational activities in support of the Wastewater Department Collection system of the City of Alexandria. This position is subject to 24-hr call. Responds to emergency calls during inclement weather or other emergencies.

Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in wastewater collection and operations; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Must possess and maintain a valid State of Louisiana Class IV Wastewater Collection certification.
High school diploma or GED. Candidates with lesser certifications may be considered depending on their previous work history, level of certification, and needs of the department. Such candidate(s) selected for hire must enter into a written transition plan to achieve certification as a Class IV Wastewater Collection Operator. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Will be required to obtain a valid State of Louisiana driver’s license at time of appointment and a valid State of Louisiana Class D driver’s license within 60 days and maintain throughout employment for this classification. May be required to obtain and maintain a valid State of Louisiana Class A or B commercial driver’s license. Will be required to obtain and maintain specialized certifications and/or training as deemed necessary.
