Job summary

Kennedy Jenks Consultants seeks a Wastewater Process Engineer to join the California Wastewater Infrastructure team. You will contribute to municipal wastewater treatment projects, planning, design, and compliance activities across local and national sites.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in wastewater engineering, EIT certification, CA PE preferred or obtainable, and a collaborative, detail‑oriented approach. The role offers a hybrid work model with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or a related engineering field.
• 5+ years of relevant municipal wastewater treatment engineering experience.
• EIT certification required; California PE license preferred or ability to obtain.
• Willingness to travel for project sites, client meetings, and collaboration with Kennedy Jenks offices.

Responsibilities

• As a Wastewater Process Engineer, support planning, design, and delivery of municipal wastewater treatment and infrastructure solutions.
• Contribute to feasibility studies, facility planning, plant upgrades, expansions, pump stations, and collection system improvements.
• Develop and evaluate physical, chemical, and biological treatment systems including capacity and regulatory analyses.
• Prepare calculations, drawings, specifications, design reports, and compliance documentation.
• Coordinate with project managers, process leads, multidisciplinary teams, clients, and regulatory agencies for discussions and permitting.
• Help develop scopes, budgets, schedules, and coordinated work plans.
